Dawaees
Graduation Project
Dawaees – which means the small allies- is a workshop system designed to fill a gap in the market of local-driven clothing, as our local markets lack the existence of local clothes that reflect our modern life with its tiny regular details, instead of depicting the huge monuments.
The system helps gather local designers, inspire them with the local regular life details, teach them the methods of printing on textile, and then help them execute their ideas into wearable pieces such as t-shirts, hoodies, bags, and such.
The workshop targets females from the age of 23 to 30 years old, who have design or arts background. The workshop system starts as follows:
1- Inspiration Phase: using a visual experience that captures the local scene in a nonchalant manner, to freshen up the designer`s imagination.
2- Learning Phase: as a tiny tutorial session teaching the various ways that the designer could use to transfer their designs into fabric.
3- Application Phase: by providing different machines, tools, and materials for the attendees to use and explore to prototype their designs into wearable pieces.
It is expected from the designer, by the end of the workshop, to provide a semi-final prototype of their designs, which Dawaees will take to the next level and upgrade. the designers will get a share of the profits of the sales of their designs, which will be decided in a contract between them and Dawaees.
